The sun was shining, an indian summer. Everything was ready to host the biggest box-lacrosse festival of Western Europe. All the way from Prague LCC Radotin and the Falcon Millionares arrived early, eager to face the top of dutch and Irish lacrosse.
As soon as the first whistle sounded it was clear the first price would be fought over severely. Inline-hockeyplayers (at who's club the tournament was hosted) soon found out they would not enter the fields as long as these men would be there. The Dublin Riggers fought hard against Radotin, even with the many international players, they could not keep pace. They where crushed. And soon it was clear, this tournament would be dominated by the Czech.. Radotin and the Falcon Millionares decided not to hold back, and both ended first in their poule.
After this it was time for a crah course in the rules. Most players, only know box lacrosse in a gym, no boarding, no box-ref's, this why the tournament organisation decided to give the word to David Vortel, our tournament's head ref, to explain the details of box lax rules. This happened in the authentic clubhouse, and everybody learned and drank. A good warm up for the party. About lax parties, there is a rule, What happens in the cave, stays in the cave. Therefor I cannot say much about this evening. Except, there where strippers, a lot of alcohol and some very good times.
With a headache, most teams entered th fields on day 2. The Czech teams had just one formality to handle to win their pouls. This gave them the saturday afternoon of to see the sights. Rotterdam, the largest harbour in the world gave them a sight to remember. The other teams had to battle for places in the semi-finals. After a tough game, Dublin became victorious over Maastricht Lacrosse, and Amsterdam II defeated their first team to became the other semi-finalist. In the first semi-final Maastricht had to cope with a small drama, one of their senior players got injured so bad, an ambulance had to take him to the hospital. After examination, a severe concussion was diagnosed, so this player was out for the weekend. Florian Meinen, we wish you a quick recovery.
At this moment the last games where known. It already was evening, and the tournament organisation had a night game planned. The all-stars of the green poule, vs the all stars of the white poule. After a real thriller the Green all-stars (LCC Radotin, Dublin, Amsterdam II) where victorious over the white all-stars (Falcon Millionares, Maastricht and Amsterdam Lion's). They all recieved a medal as price.
After a two day lax fest, most players where eager to find their beds. The party that night was quiet, but the players who made it, had a hell of a time.
No the last day started, it all came down to this. for the last place, Maastricht had a walk-over against Amsterdam. Their team was to damaged to play for the 5th place. The semi's went as expected. Both Czech teams would meet in the final. Third place to Dublin, who had a tight game against Amsterdam II.
But just before the start of the final disaster struck. The Falcon Millionares where so beaten from the tournament they had to forfit the final game. In stead Radotin decided to take on the rest of the  teams. And  they where victorious. They where by far the best team of the tournament. That is why they  won the prestigious Mundy-cup from  the hands of Mr Mundy himself and deserved a free entrance to a next edition so they can defend their title.
In the final words, as organisation I want to thank the complete staff of the tournament, the teams, and our sponsors: www.cheekylaxstuff.co.uk, the barcode, foto van de Graaff and Eurolax. I hope this was the first of many editions of Harbour laXTC's. And can completely agree with the words of Mr. Mundy. This is the birth of Lacrosse in Rotterdam. (red. This bitrth turnes out to be a succes, because whiel you read this a team is being founded in Rotterdam)

Hope to see you all next year in Rotterdam.
